Rastaplas is a family-friendly festival that has been celebrating reggae in Zoetermeer for over 20 years. Now that the festival season is over, Rastaplas is hitting the road again with a series of intimate club shows in different cities: Rastaplas in the City. During these showcases, you’ll get the unique opportunity to discover local DJs and bands showing off their talent close to home. Each night features a local band as well as a nationally recognized act, and the same goes for the DJ of the evening.

Get ready for a musical journey full of reggae and rhythms. Let yourself be carried away by positive energy and happy vibes—or just relax and enjoy the evening with like-minded people All this is made possible by Rastaplas Festival.

DEEPLY ROOTS

Deeply Roots is a reggae band with members from Arnhem, Utrecht, Deventer, and Middelburg. Vocalist Miryel takes the stage with a completely new band, performing songs by artists such as Midnite, Resonators, and Wailing Souls.

The band delivers uncommon covers, combining a positive message with powerful performances that deeply connect with the audience. During their show, the musicians create a warm, energetic, and immersive live experience that takes the audience straight into the world of Deeply Roots.

HEIGHTS MEDITATION

Heights Meditation plays a vibrant mix of reggae, dub, ska, hip-hop, dancehall, and Surinamese influences. Lead vocalists Danny “Mr. Smooth” and Otty Ranking perform in English, Patois, and Sranan.

In a short time, the band has built a loyal fanbase and has become one of the most notable underground reggae acts in the Benelux. They’ve performed at festivals such as Reggae Geel, Kwaku, Reggae Lake, and Zwarte Cross.

Their shows blend original tracks and classics with an energetic, positive vibe that always keeps the audience moving and creates a great atmosphere.

DJ Ewa Sound spins the finest tracks, from roots to dancehall, creating the perfect atmosphere to dive into the night.
