Rootsriders feat. Mo Ali are coming to Bibelot in Dordrecht. They come to pay tribute to Bob Marley’s 1975 live album, which features the iconic version of No Woman, No Cry. In 2004, the authoritative American magazine Rolling Stone ranked the song at number 37 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Largely thanks to the success of No Woman, No Cry, the album sold over 1 million copies worldwide (including 100,000 in the Netherlands alone). Numbers that were unprecedented at the time for a reggae band. On this tour, Rootsriders also dive into their personal favorite Marley songs.

Rootsriders were originally formed to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Bob Marley’s passing. They have grown into a staple of the Dutch live music circuit. Former members include singers Giovanca Ostiana and Shirma Rouse, as well as former The Voice runner-up Mitchell Brunings, whose blind audition—of course with a Marley song—went viral worldwide. The current lead singer, Mo Ali, was discovered via social media in Sudan. Very much in the spirit of the modern era. In 2022, the band reached the final of the SBS6 TV show The Tribute: Battle of the Bands. As a reward, they performed that same year in a sold-out Ziggo Dome, alongside the three other finalists.
