The Jamaican reggae singer Junior Kelly is coming to TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. He broke through around 2000 with Love So Nice, a hit loosely based on Bob Marley’s Stir It Up. Kelly is a true all-rounder: he sings sensual love ballads in a way that makes the sweat drip from the walls, but he’s just as comfortable grabbing the mic to rap about social injustice. And he has Jah on his side: in 2001, Kelly narrowly escaped death when he was involved in a serious car accident. His new single Don’t You Take Forever (2025), a high-energy mix of drum-’n’-bass and reggae, once again proves Junior Kelly’s versatility!
