Mo Ali ft. Rootsriders | Bob Marley tribute | Melkweg, Amsterdam | 05-06-2026

For 20 years, Rootsriders have been traveling the world in the footsteps of their musical hero Bob Marley, still the undisputed king of reggae. Since 2017, they have been doing so together with Sudanese singer Mo Ali. To celebrate this anniversary, they are asking Marley fans which songs they would like to hear this year. As their own support, they will also perform songs from their recently released album Beautiful Day Beautiful Life.

Rootsriders were founded in 2006 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Bob Marley’s passing, marked by a sold-out concert at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. Former members include Mitchell Brunings, now lead singer of The Wailers, as well as Shirma Rouse and Giovanca. In 2021, the band reached the finals of the first edition of the SBS6 TV show The Tribute: Battle of the Bands and performed in a sold-out Ziggo Dome together with the three other finalists. The band also tours extensively abroad, playing both their own concerts and festivals.
