The Congos is one of the last reggae groups to remain in its original lineup since the 1970s — and you can feel it! A performance by The Congos is a true Rastafarian mass, radiating cohesion, coherence, and boundless energy. Known for their “Heart Of The Congos” album, recorded with none other than Lee “Scratch” Perry. The Congos are still unstoppable more than 40 years later!
Cedric Myton, Ashanti Roy, Watty Burnett, and Talash — the newest member — are true Rastafarians who live and act according to their principles and respect for their roots. Of course, their fame was first built around the legendary album “Heart of the Congos”. It was recorded in Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry’s iconic Black Ark studio. It features roots reggae gems like “La La Bam Bam”, “Open The Gate”, and “Congo Man”, and especially the famous “Fisherman”. Which Rolling Stone magazine ranked as one of the top ten reggae tracks of all time.
The Congos most recent albums “Swinging Bridge” and “Back In The Black Ark” (recorded once again with Lee Perry) each contain timeless songs driven by exceptional vocal harmonies, with tracks such as “Ten Million Chariots”, “Spiritual Organization”, “La La Bella”, “Garden of Life”, and “Old Time Friend” — just to name a few. At Iduna, they’ll perform classics from their extensive repertoire. As a reggae lover, you’ll feast on Jamaican authenticity and quality. Get ready for a phenomenal party!
