The Skatalites | SPOT, Groningen | 01-10-2024

The Skatalites are coming to SPOT in Groningen. In 1964, a group of talented musicians came together to form The Skatalites – a monumental moment in music history. To this day, the band is seen as one of the most influential bands in both Jamaican pop music and far beyond.

The Skatalites have proven themselves several times as an inimitable backing band by playing with many vocalists in the early ’60s – with the best example being their time as Bob Marley’s “Wailing Wailers”, which formation later became unprecedentedly big as Bob Marley & The Wailers. They have also collaborated with Toots and The Maytals, Alton Ellis, Ken Boothe and many others.
