AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS – Amsterdam Reggae Festival has announced the first three artists for its 2027 edition. Jamaican roots-reggae star Jesse Royal, British-Jamaican reggae veteran Macka B and rising Swedish artist Shiwa will perform at the Kromhouthal in Amsterdam on Saturday, February 27, 2027.

The latest addition is Jesse Royal, one of the leading voices of contemporary Jamaican roots reggae. He is known for his distinctive vocals, conscious lyrics and modern interpretation of traditional roots music. Jesse Royal has built an international following with songs such as Modern Day Judas, Finally and LionOrder. His albums Lily of da Valley and Royal have further established his reputation as an important ambassador for the new generation of Jamaican reggae.

He joins the legendary Macka B, whose career has spanned more than four decades. With his instantly recognizable voice, intelligent lyrics and unique blend of roots reggae, dub and dancehall. Macka B remains one of the most respected and entertaining performers on the international reggae circuit.

Also confirmed is Shiwa, bringing a fresh Scandinavian presence to the festival’s growing international line-up.

Amsterdam Reggae Festival 2027 will transform the Kromhouthal into a celebration of reggae and Caribbean culture during the heart of the Dutch winter. Audiences can expect live performances, soundsystem culture, Caribbean food and a warm festival atmosphere.
