Eek-A-Mouse is coming to 013 in Tilburg! The mouse is born Ripton Hylton in Kingston, Jamaica, is one of the most unique voices in reggae and dancehall history. He broke through in the early 80s with his distinctive style: a mix of singing, toasting, and scatting, full of nonsensical words and rhythmic exclamations. This made him one of the first singjays – and immediately one of the most recognizable. His breakthrough came with the single ‘Wah Do Dem’ (1981), which despite controversy and a radio ban grew into an international hit.

This was followed by iconic tracks like ‘Ganja Smuggling’ and ‘Anarexol’. Eek-A-Mouse is known not only for his iconic tracks but also for his eccentric stage outfits and theatrical shows. With a career spanning over four decades, Eek-A-Mouse remains an original force within reggae – eccentric, legendary, and impossible to imitate. Let’s go skankin’ with the Mouse!
