EAST LONDON REGGAE
Formed in North East London in 2007, The Skints have grown from the underground ska and punk circuit into an internationally acclaimed live band. Marcia Richards, Joshua Waters Rudge, Jamie Kyriakides and Jonathan Doyle describe their eclectic sound as “East London reggae”.
Across albums including Part & Parcel, FM and Swimming Lessons, the band combine Jamaican musical influences with the sounds of their home city. Melodic vocal harmonies, dub textures, driving rhythms and socially conscious lyrics run throughout their work. Previous collaborators include Protoje, Jesse Royal and Runkus.
With their fifth album Sour Tooth marking a new chapter, The Skints return to Dutch stages with the energetic live sound that has also taken them to festivals including Glastonbury, Summerjam, Lowlands and Zwarte Cross.
