Jamaican singer Romain Virgo moves on the more romantic spectrum of reggae, also known as lovers rock. Virgo has just the right, smooth voice for this genre and is described by his fans as ‘Marvin Gaye with a dancehall vibe’. Virgo learned to sing in church (just like Marvin Gaye) and now has three albums out: Romain Virgo RV (2010), The System (2012) and Lovesick (2018). A new album is coming (produced by Donovan ‘Don Corleon’ Bennett) – the first singles Driver and Switch You On are already out and show a nice poppy sound!
