The Rootsriders ft Mo Ali are coming to De Helling in Utrecht. Stir it up, little darling! In 2024, Rootsriders, one of the most famous Bob Marley tribute bands in the world, will hit the road to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the album ‘Legend’ with us. Three years after the death of ‘The King of Reggae’, this legendary album was released with all the Marley hits represented. And the album is still in the top charts of best-selling albums. For example, ‘Legend’ has been in the American Billboard album charts for 800 weeks now, the second longest listing ever!

Rootsriders was founded to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Bob Marley’s death. Over the years the band has become a fixture on the Dutch live circuit. In early 2022, they made it to the finals of the SBS6 program ‘The Tribute, Battle of the Bands’. As a reward, the band performed in a sold-out Ziggo Dome that year. They played together with the 3 other finalists of the program.

Singers Giovanca Ostiana and Shirma Rouse, as well as former The Voice runner-up Mitchell Brunings, whose blind audition of – of course – one of Marley’s songs went viral worldwide, are well-known former members. The current singer Mo Ali was, as it is nowadays, found through social media in Sudan.

An evening with hits by Bob Marley such as ‘Is This Love’, ‘Three Little Birds’ & ‘Redemption Song’ is guaranteed to spread love on Friday 17 May in our Main Hall! Could you be loved?
