Step into the Soul of Reggae. The Congos are coming to Groningen and Eindhoven this winter! This is more than a concert — it’s a living chapter of reggae history. The Congos are hailing from Jamaica. They still stand as one of the few remaining groups from the golden age of reggae still performing with (nearly) their original lineup. That rare bond, forged in the 1970s, still pulses through every harmony and bassline of their live performances.
Their landmark album Heart of The Congos (1977), recorded in Lee “Scratch” Perry’s legendary Black Ark studio, is widely regarded as one of the top ten reggae albums ever made. Tracks like La La Bam Bam, Open The Gate, Congo Man, and the iconic Fisherman have become essential roots reggae anthems. Cementing the group’s place in music history.

Though the band went their separate ways in the 1980s. They reunited in 2006 with a renewed sense of purpose. Releasing Swinging Bridge and later Back in the Black Ark (2009). Both albums proving their timeless sound was as powerful as ever.
Blending hauntingly beautiful vocal harmonies with deep, hypnotic rhythms and lyrics. Steeped in spiritual and political consciousness, The Congos continue to inspire new generations of reggae lovers around the world.
