Madness by Madless | Cultuurlab, Delft | 25-01-2025

At the end of 2019, the idea was born to honor the British band Madness with a Tribute. Madness, originally a twotone band from the 1980s, is known for hits like One Step Beyond, Night Boat to Cairo, and Baggy Trousers. The Tribute group was assembled with (musical) friends from the South Holland region, seasoned veterans of the reggae, rocksteady, and ska scenes. They brought experience from bands such as Downbeat Detonators, Evening News, Mensergerjeniet, The Frontliners, and Phoenix City Retaliators.

By early 2020, Madless: The Dutch Tribute to Madness became a reality. The six musicians—John (Vocals), Karly (Guitar), Bas (Bass), Bart (Keys), Dorian (Drums), and Frans (Tenor Saxophone)—deliver an exhilarating and high-energy show featuring Madness’s greatest hits. Of course, they also play deep cuts that every die-hard Madness fan will know by heart.

From local pubs to festivals, across the Netherlands and beyond, Madless ensures every performance is unforgettable. The first Madness Tribute band in the Netherlands!
