Barrington Levy Brings His Legendary Voice to Groningen on May 8

Barrington Levy P60 Amstelveen

Barrington Levy is coming to EM2 in Groningen! This jamaican icon broke through in the late 1970s. He grew into the voice of early dancehall during the 1980s. With his distinctive, powerful vocals and irresistible melodies, he helped push the genre in a new direction. While many artists came and went, Levy kept delivering hit after hit. From Collie Weed and Shine Eye Girl to Under Mi Sensi, Here I Come, and Living Dangerously. His music effortlessly traveled from the Jamaican dancehalls to international charts.

Levy worked with leading producers and artists and performed at major festivals such as Reggae Sunsplash. Through the 1990s and beyond, he continued to evolve, collaborating on successful projects that also introduced him to a younger audience. His influence can still be heard in modern reggae, dancehall, and even jungle and hip-hop productions. On May 8, he brings his timeless riddims and legendary voice to Groningen.
