At Melkweg RADAR, you’ll discover the hottest emerging acts of the moment—spanning all genres—live from our most intimate venue: the Upstairs. On the April 4th edition, we’re excited to present two rising reggae artists, both hailing from Amsterdam: Rapha Pico and Koba Brown.

With his dynamic roots reggae and powerful lyrics about love, peace, and equal rights, Rapha Pico—a proud Amsterdammer with African-Surinamese roots—is a truly authentic voice in the reggae and dub scene. He made his breakthrough in 2019 with the single “Lead The Way” and has already shared stages with legends such as Bunny Wailer, Damian Marley, and Mad Professor. A familiar face at Melkweg, this time Rapha Pico will take the stage with a full show of his own!

The versatile Ghanaian vocalist Koba Brown also pushes musical boundaries from Amsterdam, delivering a modern fusion of dub, reggae, hip-hop, afrobeat, and soul. Inspired by the new wave of reggae artists like Chronixx and Koffee, Koba frequently collaborates with guitarist/producer Ginton, known for his work with Ronnie Flex and even Drake. Tracks like “King With A Crown” and “She’s Fire” are already making waves online, and now it’s time for Koba to shine live on stage!
