Maxi Priest and TOK are coming to Reggae Woods in Rotterdam! Reggae Woods is a new big reggae festival. In the largest city park in Rotterdam, the Zuiderpark, a grand new reggae festival will take place on July 6th! With 5 stages with different styles within reggae and international artists, this will be a great spectacle.

Maxi Priest

Maxi Priest is a British reggae vocalist known for blending reggae with R&B and pop. Born in London in 1961 as Max Alfred Elliott, he gained international fame in the late 1980s with hits like “Wild World” and “Close to You,” which topped the charts in several countries.

Priest’s smooth vocals and catchy melodies helped popularize reggae fusion music worldwide. He continued to release albums and collaborate with various artists, maintaining a presence in both reggae and mainstream music scenes. With a career spanning decades, Maxi Priest remains a respected figure in the music industry, celebrated for his contributions to the genre and his distinctive sound.

T.O.K.

T.O.K. is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall group formed in 1996. The acronym stands for “Touch of Klass.” Comprising Alistaire “Alex” McCalla, Roshaun “Bay-C” Clarke, Craig “Craigy T” Thompson, and Xavier “Flexx” Davidson, the quartet gained international recognition for their energetic performances and catchy tunes.

Their music often blends reggae with elements of dancehall and pop, crafting a distinctive sound. T.O.K. is known for hits like “Footprints,” “Chi Chi Man,” and “Gal You Ah Lead.” They’ve toured extensively and garnered awards, contributing to the global popularity of Jamaican music. Despite a hiatus in the late 2010s, T.O.K. remains influential in the reggae and dancehall scenes.
