Once again this year, Rastaplas is hosting a free edition of Rastaplas on the Move at Nicolaasplein in Zoetermeer. The event serves as a warm-up for the larger festival at the Noord-AA beach in Zoetermeer. During Rastaplas on the Move there is mostly room for Dutch reggae acts. This year, Keallex, The Frontliners and Heights Meditation Band take the stage. Musical entertainment between acts will be provided by U-Niek Sound & Riddim Jev. In addition to music, there will also be room for a festival market and stands for food and drinks.
Kaellex
Kaellex makes danceable Dutch-song reggae like their forefathers Doe Maar and Luie Hond. They hail from the beautiful island, Goeree Overflakkee (NL). The first single Arme Grond was in the list Best Dutch-language release 2020 Poolijs-Urgent FM Gent (BE).
The Frontliners
The Frontliners is a Roots Reggae band from the Netherlands. The band brings a conscious message and a good atmosphere for everyone. “Love” and “Unity” are the key words of the roots reggae music that the Frontliners make. A group of renowned musicians who love to see justice prevail in the world. One love, one heart, one destiny.
Heights Meditation
In 2010, this band was born in Amsterdam. The name had to explain in two words what happens during their performance. You are bound to get into higher spheres and thus Heights Meditation Band was a fact. Sometimes compelling but other times with driving beats make standing still impossible. The band plays various styles, such as: lovers-rock, roots-reggae and dancehall-style.
Rastaplas Festival 2024
The Rastaplas Festival Foundation has announced the dates for 2024. This year’s festival will take place on the weekend of 19 and 20 July. Rastaplas is organized at the beautiful and very green Noord-AA Strand in Zoetermeer. The festival is very child-friendly and is known for its good atmosphere.
