GEEL, BELGIUM – Europe’s longest-running reggae festival, Reggae Geel, has revealed the first names for its 2026 edition. The opening announcement already promises a line-up that bridges generations, styles, and continents. For decades, Reggae Geel has been one of the key pillars of the European reggae scene. Known for bringing together roots legends, dub innovators, and modern global reggae acts. The first artist drop for 2026 confirms that the festival continues to honour that tradition while keeping its programming fresh and diverse.
Strong First Wave of Artists
Among the first confirmed names is dancehall icon Super Cat. He is one of the most influential voices in reggae and dancehall history, whose presence alone signals a major year for the Belgian festival.
Roots and culture fans can also look forward to Queen Omega. Whose powerful vocals and conscious message have made her one of the most respected contemporary reggae artists worldwide.
Dub and soundsystem culture will be well represented with Word Sound & Power. While vintage-inspired reggae production meets live energy in the collaboration between Prince Fatty & Horseman.
French reggae powerhouse Danakil brings its socially engaged roots sound back to Geel, and UK favourites Gentleman’s Dub Club promise a high-energy performance blending reggae, dub, and modern bass influences.
The international reach of the festival is further reflected by the inclusion of Nigerian reggae and dancehall star Patoranking, alongside rising voices such as Joe Yorke.
Also confirmed are Irie Ites ft. Ranking Joe, delivering classic Jamaican vibes, and Belgian artist Tourist LeMC, adding a local touch to the first announcement.
A Festival With History
Founded in 1978, Reggae Geel is widely recognised as Europe’s oldest reggae festival. Over the decades, it has hosted countless legends while maintaining a reputation for authenticity, inclusivity, and strong community spirit.
The first line-up announcement suggests that the 2026 edition will continue that legacy, combining established icons with contemporary artists and international talent.
More Names Expected
With this only being the first wave of announcements, anticipation is already building for what else Reggae Geel has in store. If this initial reveal is any indication, the 2026 edition could be one of the festival’s strongest in recent years.
More artist announcements, ticket information, and festival updates are expected in the coming months.
