Julian Marley is coming to De Mezz in Breda with his band The Uprising. He is the son of reggae legend Bob Marley and Lucy Pounder from Barbados. Raised in a musical environment, he developed in his own unique way into a versatile musician. During his youth in Jamaica, Julian Marley was influenced by major names in the reggae world, and in 1996 he released his debut album Lion in the Morning.

This was followed by collaborations with artists such as Lauryn Hill and performances around the world with his band The Uprising. His third album Awake was nominated for a Grammy and received awards at the International Reggae and World Music Awards. Julian is a devoted Rastafarian, and like his father’s, his music remains rooted in spirituality, consciousness, and a global message.

On August 24, Julian Marley & The Uprising will perform live on stage at MEZZ. Expect an evening full of roots reggae, positive energy, and musical depth.
