Rastaplas is a family festival that has been organizing the Rastaplas Festival in Zoetermeer for more than 20 years, fully dedicated to reggae. Now that the festival season has come to an end, Rastaplas is once again hitting the road with a series of intimate club shows in different cities: Rastaplas in the City.

During these showcases, you’ll get the unique chance to discover local DJs and bands who want to share their talent in their own environment. Alongside a local band, there will also be a nationally known act on stage, and the same goes for the DJ of the evening.

Get ready for a musical journey full of reggae and rhythms. Let yourself be carried away by the positive energy and joyful vibes, or just come relax and enjoy together with like-minded people. All this is made possible by Rastaplas Festival.

DEEPLY ROOTS

Deeply Roots is a reggae band with members from Arnhem, Utrecht, Deventer, and Middelburg. Singer Miryel takes the stage with a completely new band, performing songs from, among others, Midnite, Resonators, and Wailing Souls. The band brings covers that are far from ordinary, combining a positive message with a powerful performance that moves the audience. During their show, the musicians deliver a warm, energetic, and captivating live experience that draws the audience into the world of Deeply Roots.

HEIGHTS MEDITATION

Heights Meditation plays a mix of reggae, dub, ska, hip-hop, dancehall, and Surinamese influences. Lead singers Danny “Mr. Smooth” and Otty Ranking perform their songs in English, Patois, and Sranan. In a short time, the band has built up a loyal fan base and has grown into one of the most striking underground reggae acts in the Benelux. They have performed at festivals such as Reggae Geel, Kwaku, Reggae Lake, and Zwarte Cross. Their shows combine original tracks and classics with an energetic and positive vibe that always sets the right mood.
