Ska institution King Hammond from London is teaming up with the Amsterdam Faya All-Stars. He is coming to the Netherlands for a series of shows — including shows in Dordrecht, Woerden, Amsterdam en Hilversum ! King Hammond is the stage name of legendary musician Nick Welsh. He will perform on Thursday, May 7 at Bibelot in Dordrecht. On Friday, May 8 at Podium Bredius in Woerden. Saturday, May 9 at De Nieuwe Anita in Amsterdam. Last but not least on Sunday, May 10 at The Skiff in Hilversum.
Welsh was for many years the bassist of The Selecter, pioneers of the 2 Tone sound with hits like On My Radio and Three Minute Hero. In 2003, he won a Grammy Award for his contribution to Lee “Scratch” Perry’s album Jamaican E.T., which won Best Reggae Album.

A special highlight of this short tour is that King Hammond will be backed live by the Amsterdam-based Faya Allstars, featuring Remco Faya Korporaal among its members. Remco played saxophone for 25 years with Mr. Review, including several legendary performances in Babylon Woerden.
