Held at the National Bowl in Milton Keynes, Reggae Land has grown rapidly in recent years and has established itself as one of Europe’s major reggae and dancehall festivals. The reported attendance of more than 135,000 people across the 2026 edition marks another significant step in that growth.
Vybz Kartel closes Reggae Land in front of huge crowd
One of the biggest moments of the weekend came on Sunday when Jamaican dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel brought Reggae Land 2026 to a spectacular close. Around 50,000 people reportedly gathered for Kartel’s closing performance, creating one of the largest crowds of the weekend. Kartel was joined by Shenseea as a surprise guest, with the two Jamaican stars performing their collaboration Panic together.
The appearance added another memorable chapter to Kartel’s remarkable return to international stages and underlined his continued influence on dancehall culture worldwide.
Major names descend on Milton Keynes
Reggae Land 2026 featured a huge international line-up covering reggae, roots, dancehall, dub and related sounds. Among the major artists appearing during the festival were Vybz Kartel, Burna Boy, Beenie Man and Morgan Heritage. Alongside many other Jamaican, British and international performers. With multiple stages and soundsystems spread across the festival grounds, Reggae Land once again brought different generations of reggae and dancehall together in one place.
Reggae and dancehall continue to grow in the UK
The attendance figures are particularly impressive for a festival dedicated predominantly to reggae, dancehall and Caribbean music. The United Kingdom has played an important role in reggae culture for decades, and events such as Reggae Land demonstrate that the music continues to attract enormous audiences across generations.
From foundation reggae and soundsystem culture to contemporary dancehall and African-Caribbean sounds, the festival’s success reflects how broad the international audience for Jamaican music has become. With more than 135,000 visitors over three days, Reggae Land 2026 can officially look back on its biggest edition yet.
And after another record-breaking weekend in Milton Keynes, expectations for Reggae Land 2027 will undoubtedly be high.
