NEW: Spellbreakers – Revolution (2026)

Revolution Spellbreakers New Album

Antwerp based roots reggae band Spellbreakers just released their new album “Revolution”. From the analog tape recording, the one pass dub mixing, handdrawn illustrations and linocut print front cover. This record is a celebration of human craft and creativity. It is also a call for resistance in these times of turmoil, misinformation and war. ‘Revolution’ aims to be a source of strength and hope.

Roots reggae with a punk spirit!

Spellbreaker’s music owes a clear debt to both Jamaican and UK roots reggae music, while showing a strong singular identity.
Their sound can best be described as a combination of rootsy reggae vibes with a militant and punky energy bubbling underneath, which perfectly reflects the band members background and history.

Morgan Heritage Effenaar Eindhoven

The album was produced by Kingston Echo in his fully analogue studio Hoboken Hifi in Antwerp, Belgium. As goes for all his productions, the whole album was recorded straight to a 16 track tape recorder, with the rythm section playing live. All mixes and dub mixes are single pass mixes using strictly analogue effects.

No computers were used in the production process whatsoever. In short, the process stays as true as possible to the standard practice during the 70s and 80s glory days of reggae music.
