Cedella Marley wins Legacy Award at Caribbean Music Awards

Cedella Marley received a Legacy Award at the 2024 Caribbean Music Awards, which were presented on Thursday (Aug. 29) at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, N.Y. Cedella Marley is a Jamaican singer, author, and entrepreneur. She was born on August 23, 1967. Cedella is the daughter of reggae icons Bob and Rita Marley. She was a member of Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers with her siblings Ziggy, Sharon, and Stephen. The group won multiple Grammy Awards.

Cedella Marley is also a successful businesswoman. She is the CEO of Tuff Gong International, Bob Marley’s record label. She manages the Marley family businesses, including Marley Natural and Marley Coffee. Cedella is a fashion designer with her own brand, “Catch a Fire.” She designed the Jamaican Olympic team uniforms in 2012. Her designs often reflect her Jamaican heritage.

Cedella is also a children’s book author. She wrote books like “One Love” and “Every Little Thing,” inspired by Bob Marley’s songs. Her work promotes themes of love, unity, and positivity.
