Last year, Aba Shanti-I celebrated his thirtieth year as a resident sound system at the Notting Hill Carnival. The same year he started, the legendary producer was voted the No. 1 DJ in the World by DJ Magazine. Since then, he has amassed many loyal followers, who flock to see him present his iconic dub-plate collection, running tracks like ‘Jah Lord’ and ‘Jah Lightning And Thunder’ on his thunderous speakers. Shanti-I is also celebrated for being among the first in his domain to recognize diverse audiences, and always making an effort to harvest good vibes, unity, and integration.

King or prince, this plate spinner’s name is always preceded with a royal title for good measure. The Jamaica-born dub mixer and record producer got his start as a dub master at King Tubby’s studio, later graduating into making his own sound system. Recognized as one of the most important producers in dancehall, King Jammy’s biggest hit, 1985’s smash ‘Under Me Sleng Teng’ by Wayne Smith, earned him the credit of being the first to introduce ‘digital rhythm’ to reggae.

KrackFree Soundsystem

By 2015, this dubstep-loving collective already had a club night under their belt; however, inspired by their UK sound system peers, they decided to make their own.  Nearly ten years and four stacks later, the Krackfree Soundsystem remains as inspired and energized as ever. Nowadays, the group (of which Eindhoven reggae legend Fada Jep is a part of) is dedicated to touring their unique sound system around Europe, aiming to infuse each performance with something beyond technical prowess: love.
