Het nieuwe standbeeld van Bob Marley is officieel onthuld in Liverpool. De onthulling werd verricht door Rasta-dichter Levi Tafari. Het standbeeld bevindt zich in Jamaica Street en is gemaakt in opdracht van Het Positive Vibration Reggae Festival. De organisatie van het festival vonden in 2016 inspiratie in de boodschap van Marley’s muziek. Sindsdien heeft het Positive Vibration Festival diverse awards gewonnen. Op deze manier wil de organisatie iets terugdoen en de Jamaicaanse cultuur eren. Het standbeeld werd gemaakt door de bekende beeldhouwer Andy Edwards. Edwards is ook verantwoordelijk voor het standbeeld van ‘The Beatles’. (Bron: ECHO)
